Cookie Policy
What we put on your browser and why.
Last updated: April 14, 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They are used to remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and enable core functionality.
Mewse uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage) to operate. We use only what is necessary — no tracking pixels, no advertising cookies, no third-party profiling.
2. What We Use (And What We Don't)
✅ Cookies We Use
- Session cookies — Keep you logged in while you use Mewse. Deleted when you close your browser.
- Auth tokens — Stored securely to remember your login across sessions. These are encrypted and essential for account access.
- Functional preferences — Remember settings like filter preferences in the hook library. These improve your experience but are not linked to you personally.
❌ Cookies We Don't Use
- Advertising cookies — We don't track you across other websites for ad targeting
- Social media tracking pixels — We use Facebook Meta Pixel for conversion tracking only when you interact with paid ads (not for general browsing)
- Third-party analytics profiling — We use basic page-view tracking for product improvement, not user profiling
- Cross-site tracking cookies — Nothing follows you around the internet
3. Third-Party Cookies We Use
We use these third-party services that may set cookies:
- Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe may set cookies to manage your checkout session. Stripe Cookie Policy
- Google Fonts — For loading our font (Nunito). Google may set analytics cookies for font usage. Google Cookie Policy
- OpenAI — Processes your prompts through their API. OpenAI Privacy Policy
4. How to Manage Cookies
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. Here's how for the major browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies and website data
- Edge: Settings → Cookie and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
Note: Blocking essential cookies (auth/session) will prevent you from logging into Mewse.
5. Browser Storage (localStorage/sessionStorage)
In addition to cookies, Mewse may use browser localStorage to store:
- Your UI preferences (filter states, display settings)
- Session state for the mobile menu
- Marketing banner dismiss state
These are not sent to our servers — they stay in your browser only.
6. Do Not Track
Mewse respects your browser's Do Not Track signal. If you have DNT enabled, we will not use tracking cookies for analytics purposes. Essential session cookies are still required for the service to function.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our service evolves. Material changes will be communicated on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
